Fashionista

Today, I really did dress Mikayla in a cute Christmas Jumper. But, when I went upstairs mid-morning to see what she was up to, she was sitting on the floor in the playroom but had changed her clothes! She was wearing 2 skirts and 3 hats!!! So, of course I took her picture! Unfortunately, I didn't realize until later that she has also emptied ALL of her drawers of clothes, and dumped them on the floor.

Thanksgiving

I had better get Thanksgiving Pictures up before Christmas is here!
Thanksgiving Highlights!
#1
This year we went to my Grandma's house for Thanksgiving. (My kids Great-Grandma, better known as Oma.) The day after Thanksgiving the kids made decorations and ornaments for my Grandpas (Opa's) room in the nursing home.

#2 The kids were sleeping on these inflatable sleeping bag beds. And we always seem to take pictures of the kids when they are sleeping. Even Mikayla was sleeping
on one! At home she is still in her crib, so while we were at Oma's, she woke up during the night and had a new found freedom. It was so cute, because she had wandered upstairs and crawled onto the couch to sleep with Oma! (now, don't think we're cruel to make my Grandma sleep on the couch, if you knew her you'd understand that it's just like her to give EVERYONE else a bed before she'd take one.)

Halloween

Halloween!!! We had a full day on Wednesday! In the morning, parents are invited to join Logan's preschool class while they go "trick or treating" around the building. Then in the afternoon I went to Luke's school for his Halloween party! Even though the kids don't get to wear costumes, they still had fun playing games, eating snacks and making a craft. After school we got a bite to eat, got in costume and prepared to go trick or treating (Like we really needed more candy after they got so much at school!!!). After trick or treating we went to church (for more candy!) for their Fall festival. Luckily no one broke out in hives this year and we got to enjoy the night!

This picture is in Logan's preschool class. Logan is in the red power ranger costume. I love the way Mikayla just blends right in!

Here she is sitting in the crowd!

This was in Luke's class.

girl! Here they are! Pikachu, Spiderman, and butterfly/princess/fairy As you can see NO ONE wanted to pose for a picture before going trick or treating!

I love this Picture! Logan is playing "air guitar". A rare moment where Logan was so excited I guess he just needed to break into his guitar solo. Especially funny if you knew the scene that had played out in our home moments before!
Note: Logan is no longer a red power ranger, but Spiderman. After MANY mind changes he finally consented to wear his "strong" spider-man costume, but only with the gloves and mask. And of course 1 glove was missing. For those who know all the opportunities I have with Logan, you can imagine how this whole missing glove, what to wear costume ordeal was really like! But, after much searching we found it . . . in the garage! ? And of course 5 minutes after we were outside . . . he wouldn't wear the MASK OR GLOVES!!!!

The back of her wings were especially cute, but this is the only picture we got of them. You can sort of get the idea.

More birthday pictures

(Disclaimer: I can NEVER post pictures in the right order. The "3rd" birthday post is really the first one, then this one, then the middle one. So, if reading in order is important to you, scroll down then come back up to read the next 2.)

After the kids all arrived they entered our "Super Hero Training Center". They had to complete 3 skills, Agility, Endurance and Accuracy.

For Agility we dropped these balloons down from the ceiling on long strings and they had to run through them without hitting any "lava" filled balloons.

Endurance: John ran them hard! They jumped, squatted and ran. They also had to balance this box (as heavy as a locomotive!) over their heads!

Accuracy (no pictures) they shot silly string at a mural of evil villans that Luke and Logan had designed before the party.

(Poor Logan, he was starting to get a fever, which he is home with today and is currently sleeping in his bed)

Super Luke turns 6!!!

Diaper Man!

Once the kids had completed the Super Hero Training, they created their own Super Hero identities by designing their own capes and disguising themselves with masks. Then the observant Sydney (note it's the girl) notices that The Hulk costume is missing from the Super Hero Hall of Fame. So, our little super heroes donned their costumes and took off to find the evil villan "Diaper Man". They were SOOOO serious about tracking him down and finding the missing costume! Luckily diaper man left a trail of diapers and our Super Heroes were able to work together to defeat him and return the costumes to their rightful places!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUKE!!!

Luke is 6 years old today!!!
Happy Birthday Lukie!!!! Or, should I say "Luke" who informed me during his birthday party Saturday night that he just wants to be "Luke" not Lukie. I guess he really is growing up!!! Here are some pictures from his "Super Hero Training Center" birthday party.

Birthday Table decorations!

We had a "Super Hero Hall of Fame" for the Super Heroes we had trained in the past.

I'm not tired :)

Since Luke started Kindergarten the boys have a new bedtime, 7:30 p.m. Since their bedtime is earlier, I don't mind if Logan doesn't fall asleep during his rest time (because when he takes a long nap, he's not ready for bed that early). Today, though, our Wednesday night youth groups resume. Since we have an evening activity I really wanted Logan to fall asleep during his rest. After he laid in his bed for about an hour and hadn't fallen asleep, I let him get up. I guess he really was tired though, because after he'd been "awake" for a few minutes, the house was dangerously quiet. I went looking for him and found him like this . . . .

Sound asleep, leaning against the pantry door.

Books I've been reading

John posted some books he's been reading lately, so I thought I'd share some from my repertoire.

SICKO

12:27 p.m.
"Hello?"

"Mrs. Wentz"

"Yes"

"This is Mrs. Matzke, Luke's teacher. Luke just threw up in the lunch line at school."

POOR KID!

3:30 p.m.

john walk in the door

"I'm gonna throw up."

Now they're both quarentined to our bedroom and I am contemplating bathing the rest of us in Lysol!!!!

At preschool

Logan's first day or preschool

John and I concluded that we are getting old. We can't handle the rides anymore! We went on "The Joker" and I had to close my eyes and breath deep to avoid tasting my lunch for the second time!

Luke loved the ride though and wanted to go on again! John was a trooper and rode with Luke, on the back of the boat!!

We went on the mine train, a "non-upside down" roller coaster. This is the last smile Logan had on this ride.

Mikayla noticed a lady sweeping up leaves. So, she decided to help. She went around and picked up leaves and handed them to her to put into her dustpan on a pole.

SUPERSTAR!!!

Labor Day at Six Flags

We spent our Labor Day at Six Flags! We met Grandma Wentz at a gas station nearby and went on our way!

Here's our family picture in the antique car.

Then we wanted a funny picture. Does it look to you like our kids are like, "Let's get out of this car and away from our embarrassing parents!!!"?

Mikalya looks like she's thoroughly enjoying the log flume.

I had forgotten that Six Flags was Super Hero heaven. We saw The Flash, and Batman, along with Scooby Doo, Shaggy, and the Looney Toons. Logan was so awestruck when we saw batman that he wouldn't even get close to him! I asked Logan, "How'd you feel when we saw Batman?" He said, "Kind of shy." "Why?" I asked "Cause I just never saw a REAL Batman!"
